As Development Coordinator for Major Projects, you will take A well known and important vacancy in delivering public engagement strategies and outputs for some of our larger research activities and projects, including working with a rich mix of stakeholders nationally and internationally. Successful job seekers will have a first degree in a S T E M ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) or a field related to science/research engagement, impact or policy and have significant track record of public engagement activities.required and essential Skills: First degree in a S T E M ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) or Public Engagement related field Established track record of public engagement involving varied audiences and working with different stakeholders High-level interpersonal skills and ability to be working within small and large teams Experience of working in an academic and/or research environment and preferably, with engagement and/or impact work associated with research projects Flexibility in working style and practice including working for short periods awayWillingness to work occasional evenings and weekends Excellent organisation and planning skills Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders, from senior academics to support and help staff, with tact and diplomacy Experience with basic computer software such as Word/ Excel/Powerpoint Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads Ability to solve problems and resolve day-to-day conflicts with respect to delivery of activityGood attention to detail and ability to develop risk assessments and contingency plans Experience of evaluating activities and offering reports to funders or influencers Full UK driving license Ideal Skills: Second degree in a S T E M ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) or Public Engagement related discipline Experience with organising or implementing public/stakeholder engagement activities with international networks or consortia Evidence of engagement with policy makers or thinktanks Experience of the higher education impact agenda or the Research Excellence Framework Salary range £;31,498 to £;39,729 each year depending on experience. The Wellcome Genome Campus is the UK's dynamic and growing hub for genomics science. It hosts the global renowned Sanger Institute, a charitably funded research centre focused on understanding This vacancy offer of genetics in health and disease and the European Bioinformatics Institute, a global important hub for biological data curation and analysis (part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory). The post will be based within the Public Engagement team which itself is located within Connecting Science: A group of teams dedicated to inspiring new thinking, sparking conversation and supporting learning around genomics science and its applications. The post holder will also develop good working relationships with these other teams and wider groups across campus, including training and communications colleagues.
