Engineering Requirements. Systems Engineering Team Leader, Dorset, � 45,000 - � 55-000 A worldwide organisation is seeking an Engineering Requirements. Systems Engineering Team Leader to become part of their team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Dorset. Working within a high technology environment the Engineering Requirements. Systems Engineering Team Leader will hold both managerial and hands on engineering job duties. Managerial job duties Leading a small team of six staff covering mentoring, training, coaching, personal development and reviews etc; Maintaining a skills matrix for all staff and actively progress team members to fill that matrix; Managing the team to ensure appropriate use of their skills and equipment in the development of new products and new options for equipment; Ensuring the team works closely with product management, engineering development and project teams to ensure that products meet the requirements and customer expectations; To forecast, manage and review the team workload against project needs Hands on element - Responsible for requirements capture from both internal and external customers via either face to face or telephone communication i.e. A new feature for an existing product; Having gained a thorough understanding of what the customer requires the selected job job candidate will be accountable for producing accurate technical documentation and specifications detailing the mechanical, electrical and software requirements of the project, and then will work closely with the customer, engineering and project teams to ensure timely delivery; To manage change requests and customer expectations effectively to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved; To provide the link between the customer, development team and any third party throughout the development lifecycle; To capture and document best practice and be an advocate for consistent design principles. In order to be considered for this position job job candidates need to hold a formal qualification i.e. Masters, Degree, HND in an engineering discipline such as Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related subject. In addition to this job job candidates need to have proven experience in the management and development of small teams. Candidates also need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record working in a multi-disciplinary engineering. manufacturing environment and have a sound understanding of software, hardware and mechanical disciplines. This job has a particular bias to understanding how hardware and software systems integrate together. Candidates also need to have a strong background working with internal and external customers and end users to deliver projects as well as requirements capture. It would be advantageous to have gained this experience in an automated. special purpose machinery environment, as it would be to have understanding of systems engineering, mechatronics, robotics, motors, control systems or motion control. This job is commutable from Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester, Yeovil, Wimborne, Weymouth and other locations within Dorset. Somerset. Devon and the South West.
