Education An stimulating opportunity has arisen for an Accounts and HR Assistant located in Angel, Islington to become part of a respectable and well organised Montessori Nursery School. The nursery provide care for children aged 3 months to 5 years, from 7am-7pm 5days a week. They were the first London Nursery School to achieve the prestigious Quality Counts Kitemark and have subsequently achieved two Quality Counts accreditations and the Investors in Children Award. They provide a service of excellence to their parents and children and the team is made up of dedicated, passionate and professional staff. Purpose of Role:
Help to ensure good qualitys of service are maintained at all times. To ensure the smooth running of the Nursery School accounts department Liaise with parents, communicate and understand their individual needs. To work with the team in the Nursery School Main Office to establish any areas of improvement. Provide office support for the Nursery School, Nanny and Babysitting Agency as and when needed. Perform all HR duties for the Nursery School and Nanny and Babysitting Agency. Key job duties:
Assist the Account. HR Manager with all Accounts and HR related admin:
Use First Steps software to record and maintain accounts transactions and HR records Raise monthly invoices and any ad-hoc invoices as needed Process all direct debit deadlines as needed. Monitor parentandrsquo;s outstanding accounts and perform Credit Control as necessary. Liaise with the Bookkeeper on a weekly basis if necessary regarding accounts. Deal with parentsandrsquo; enquiries being as personable and helpful as possible at all times. Receive and make telephone calls, deal with emails, handle enquiries and pass them onto the relevant people as needed. Assist the Nursery School classrooms as and when needed. Liaise with IT support, accounts and payroll packages (Sage), banks and First Steps as needed regarding maintenance and technical support. Perform and assist the Account. HR Manager with general HR administration Deputise for the Account. HR Manager in their absence Follow all Nursery School and Nanny and Babysitting Agency policies and procedures. Uphold data protection Knowledge:
Excellent IT skills, including the understanding of a range of software packages; Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel and Outlook) Internet Explorer, Good communication skills and proficiency in the written and spoken English language. Safeguarding andndash; Knowledge of child protection issues and an awareness of the definitions of harm, abuse and neglect. Ensuring we keep children secure and safe at all times. Skills and Experience:
Previous experience or understanding of using accounting packages in a similar job Excellent organisational and time management skills Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure Experience of accounts, invoicing and reconciliations. Solid administrative experience. Ability to spread focus over varying workloads. Qualities:
Numerically minded. Have a helpful and friendly attitude towards all staff and parents. Be flexible within a team. Ability to work on your own initiative Be honest and discreet. Be punctual. Ability to work to strict deadlines. Ability to be flexible in managing tasks and duties. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to deal with clients in a calm and helpful manner.
