� 32K - � 36K Key job duties:
1. To supervise projects and to assist in obtaining the necessary technical, administrative and financial approvals in the preparation, supervision and administration of the highways contracts. 2. To prepare estimates and lead on the supervision and administration of contracts and to ensure compliance with contract specifications, financial regulations, standing orders and the relevant legislation. 3. To ensure that the contractors are delivering quality services in compliance with specifications, through maintaining adequate site inspection records to address non-compliance issues and resulting remedial actions. 4. To liaise with, where appropriate, other agencies and bodies and internal departments, to ensure the site works are coordinated and projects are delivered to programme. 5. To assist with, or carry out condition surveys and site surveys as directed and to assist with, or carryout the preparation of reports in findings. 6. To liaise and deal courteously and in line with policy with all enquiries from elected Members, members of the public, and stakeholders, including the preparation of letters, technical reports and other documents as needed. 7. To maintain technical and resource records, and undertake research and technical investigations as directed. Job Specification 1. To be aware of the best value aspects of providing professiona.technical service and to assist in the achievement of these. 2. Attend internal and external meetings, and represent the service at public and other meetings as directed. 3. To take ownership of personal training and development needs, and keep up to date with latest industry developments. 4. Carry out duties with due regard to Customer Care, Equal Opportunities, Information Governance, Data Protection and Health and Safety policies and procedures. 5. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this post. 6. To assist in the preparation of estimates, the supervision and administration of Contracts and to control any resources allocated ensuring compliance with financial regulations, standing orders and the relevant legislation. 7. Assist with the maintenance of the Highways programme databases to control programme, income and expenditure. Requirements (Essential) 1. Must have relevant experience in highway engineering 2. General understanding of highways and transport policies and associated working understanding of legislation 3. ON. HNC in Civil Engineering. Transportation 4. Good written and verbal communication skills 5. Good IT skills 6. Good budgetary management skills 7. Experience of working with consultant.contractors 8. Ability to keep good work records 9. Valid clean vehicle licence 10.
