Curtis Recruitment is seeking a qualified Tax Senior on behalf of our prestigious client, a Top 100 accountancy practice in Banbury. This position is within the Tax and Wealth Planning department with the purpose of The Job being to provide a high-quality service to clients in designated section and to contribute to the development of the practice under supervision. Reporting to the Tax Manager, the key job duties of the Tax Senior will be to:
andbull; Prepare partnership tax returns based on information supplied by client, advise on tax payable and payment deadlines andbull; Liaise with HMRC regarding specialist tax work andbull; Prepare and assist with specialist tax work such as ATED, VAT options to tax, capital taxes, stamp duty, national insurance contributions and share schemes andbull; Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information to complete accounts and tax returns and identify tax planning opportunities andbull; Prepare personal tax returns for directorandrsquo;s efficiently and in accordance with the firmandrsquo;s procedures andbull; Assist and train junior members of the team with accounts and tax matters andbull; Finalise paperwork for dispatch to clients and HMRC andbull; Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets andbull; Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery andbull; Attend courses that are appropriate to job job andbull; Identify additional services to be raised with client andbull; Generation and referral of leads andbull; Prepare income from property schedules and prepare capital gains computations andbull; Prepare tax returns for deceased estate and high net worth individuals andbull; Provide tax assistance to other departments within the firm To be considered for the Tax Senior job applicants will satisfy the following:
andbull; Be degree or ATT qualified or equivalent experience - CTA or equivalent tax qualification through experience is desirable andbull; Minimum of 3 years proven tax experience within a practice environment andbull; Extensive understanding of all personal and business taxes andbull; Knowledge of capital taxes, including capital gains tax and inheritance tax andbull; Familiarity with taxation software and interaction with HMRC online services andbull; Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero is desirable andbull; Strong technical capability and accuracy with advice and recording andbull; Excellent problem-solving skills and idea generating capability andbull; Live within a sensible commuting distance of Banbury andbull; Work outside normal hours as needed The successful job job candidate will be a self-motivated achiever who is energetic, resilient, creative and consistently analytical with acute attention to detail.
